Refund Policy

Our Policy: All Sales Are Final

Maria Pairitz operates an all-sales-final policy. Once an order is placed and payment is confirmed, we do not accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations. We encourage you to review product listings carefully and contact us at info@mariapairitz.com before purchasing if you have any questions.

1. Why All Sales Are Final

  • Original paintings — each is a unique, hand-created work of art that cannot be resold as new once returned.

  • Prints — produced on demand by our fulfilment partner specifically for your order; they cannot be restocked.

  • Merchandise — produced on demand; returned goods cannot be restocked.

  • Commissions — require significant time investment and are created specifically for the commissioning client.

2. Exceptions — Damaged or Incorrect Items

 
Item Damaged in Transit

If your item arrives with damage caused during shipping:

  1. Photograph the outer packaging before opening it, if possible.

  2. Photograph the damaged item clearly, showing the full extent of the damage.

  3. Email us at info@mariapairitz.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and the photographs.

  4. We will review your claim and, where damage is confirmed, arrange a replacement or issue store credit at our discretion.

 

Wrong Item Received

If you receive an item different from what you ordered, contact us at info@mariapairitz.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photographs. We will arrange for the correct item to be sent.

 

3. What Is Not Covered

The following do not qualify for a refund, return, or replacement:

  • Change of mind after purchase

  • Color variation between the product and its digital representation on screen (monitor calibration differences are normal)

  • Minor differences in texture or finish between print runs

  • Damage caused after delivery (improper storage, handling, or framing)

  • Delays or issues caused by customs agencies, postal services, or other carriers

  • Orders delivered to an incorrect address provided by the customer

 

 

4. Commissions — Deposit Policy

Commission deposits (50% of the agreed price) are non-refundable under all circumstances, as they compensate for the time reserved to plan and begin your project.

If you cancel a commission after work has begun, the deposit is forfeited. Depending on the stage of completion, additional charges may apply. These terms will be set out clearly in your Commission Agreement before any work begins.

 

5. Note for International Customers

 

EU & UK Statutory Rights

If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, you may have statutory rights that cannot be waived by contract. In particular, EU and UK consumers may have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance sales of physical goods. However, this right may not apply to goods made to your specification (such as commissions and made-to-order prints). Nothing in this policy is intended to override any statutory consumer right you are entitled to under applicable law.

 

 

6. Return Shipping

In the event that a return is authorised by us, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless we have specifically agreed in writing to cover them. Items must be returned in their original or equivalent protective packaging.

7. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Refund Policy at any time. Orders placed prior to a policy change remain subject to the policy in effect at the time of purchase.
